Phoenix Rises

The Suns were able to bounce back from a sub-par performance to win Game Four in L.A. rather handily, by the final score of 113-100.

An MVP-like, 23 assist performance by Steve Nash led the Suns who also got a combined 49 points and 32 rebounds from the frontcourt All-Star tandem of Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Marion.

Amare took Kwame Brown's game three performance personal and dominated the paint - pulling down a Barkley-like 21 boards. Marion was his typical Matrix self, getting his 22 points on a variety of dunks and putbacks.

The Lakers used all 12 of their players, and none of them really showed much of an effort. As a team the Lakers had 21 assists, two short of Nash's individual total. After dominating the boards in game three the Fakers were outrebounded 44-39 by the smaller, quicker Suns. It appears things are back to normal in Fakerland. The Grim Raper took 25 shots - scored 31 points - and the rest of them stood around watching. All day long, The Grim Raper whined and cried as he put up bad shot after bad shot and the Fakers hopes and dreams that developed after game three faded away into oblivion.

The series returns to US Airways Center on Wednesday night for the Fakers last game of the 2006-07 season.

I agree that we should blow the Fakers out of the water tonight. The key will be for Cindy Bell to hold off on having their baby until tomorrow.
In case you guys didn't know - Raja's wife is due any day now. They are supposed to induce labor tomorrow, but she may go into labor tonight. If she does, it will be a tough task beating the Fakers without Raja - although we did it last year in the playoffs.

I wasn't going to touch on the all defensive team, but since you brought it up I will.
I agree that Shawn Marion got screwed while The Grim Raper didn't deserve it.
The Matrix is among the league leaders in blocks, steals and rebounds. He can guard bigger players or smaller players. He holds guards or forwards. There is nobody in the league that has the versatility as Shawn Marion.
I don't understand how a player can finish #4 in voting for defensive player of the year, yet still not make even the second team all defense. It doesn't make sense.

The Grim Raper can play defense...but he doesn't care to play any D. He ususally takes it easy on the defensive end so he can rest up for his 35 shots he's going to take offensively. Having him on that team and not Shawn Marion is a joke.
I put no stock in the All Defensive team selections anymore.

oh cindy and raja are getting a baby? didn't hear any news about that but congrats for the both of them. i wish them the best. regarding the matrix getting snubbed situation, you brought up good points how he really deserves to be in the all defensive team although kobe is SO OVERRATED as a defender. marion has been playing out of position and he's guarding either the other team's best player or whoever plays PF in the west. his numbers back it up but bottomline is that the defensive team selection=popularity contest. its all bullshit.
